Church Building Fund

$20 of $100,000 raised

Comebackability.

“The doctors said I probably wouldn’t live very long….”

Our founding pastor, the late Rev. Julius Sasportas, would often share the story of his fragile start in life. But he defied the odds and lived for over 90 years.

Rev. Sasportas’ experience is a metaphor for the Co-op City Baptist Church.

We’ve had to scrape, sacrifice and fight for everything. Although we’ve been knocked down many times, by God’s grace, we have never been KNOCKED OUT.

Any day now, cranes will arrive on the site, and the “digging” will begin!

Our new church edifice will include a state-of-the-art facility to house a comprehensive youth education and recreational program.

But, we can do more things faster for our kids if we’re not in debt. Working in the red is why many large community-based projects shut down. And we will not fail these kids! We need to earn $100,000 in a year.

Kindly donate, and share this link through social media so others can join this effort.

It’s easy to say you want our kids to excel in math, reading, technology and science, but will you actively support such an outcome?

Even if you don’t know us, please do this **(seriously)** …

Pray over your credit card. Then make your donation as a love offering to God. He will bless you for being a blessing to children.  Thank you!

Favorite Bible Passage
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.” (Colossians 3:16, NIV)

The first instance of singing in Scripture is Exodus 15, as the people of Israel sing of victory and praise after God led them out of Egypt.  References to songs of praise, contrition, supplication, and thanksgiving are made throughout both the Old and New Testaments.  We are made to know that the praise of God in song is an eternal activity of those who love Him.   So, the choirs of The Co-op City Baptist Church are committed to meet the need for sacred music during our services.  Music helps to set the spiritual mood for worship, for the Preacher’s sermon, for giving our tithes and offerings, for benediction, even for going home services.  Choirs serve at all services, and attends the pastor as he goes out to preach, as well.  Each member, of each choir has committed to be prepared by faithfully attending, on time, his/her assigned date for rehearsal, studying the songs of Zion, and practicing under the leadership of The Minister of Music.  The choral ministry of The Co-op City Baptist Church is made up of:

  • The Mass Choir (1st Sunday)
  • The Inspirational Choir (2nd & 3rd Sunday)
  • The Youth/Young Adult Choir (4th Sunday)
  • The Senior Choir (5th Sunday)
  • The Men’s Chorus (5th Sunday)
  • The Sunrise Choir (each Sunday @ 8:00 a.m.)
