The announcements for today are as follows:

Today begins our summer hours of one service starting at 9 a.m.  These hours will continue until Sunday, September 12.

Make reservations for your bus seat and meal ticket for the Co-op City Intergenerational Outreach Center Senior Program trip on Saturday, September 11 to the Cabaret Lulu production honoring Bessie Smith, Billy Eckstein and Harry Belafonte.  Payment of $65 is due today.  You may see Sis. Ione Foote or Sis. Hattie Lucas after service to make your reservations.

The Connection is your newsletter and the Ministry is looking for your input in every issue.   We would especially like to hear from the youth.  If you have an article, announcement, or a subject you would like to see covered in the Newsletter, kindly let us know by Sunday, September 12th.  We look forward to hearing from you.  Thank you.

You are cordially invited to participate in “National Night Out” hosted by the Riverbay Fund-Community Relations Committee & Security Committee, The New York Police Department-45th Precinct and the 45th Precinct Council.  You may reserve a table to share your organization’s information with the Co-op City Community.  This year’s event will be held at the Section 5 Greenway on Tuesday, August 3rd from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  In the case of rain, the event will be held in Dreiser Auditoriums A, B, & C.  Copies of the participant application form may be found on the information table.  For additional information you may contact Michelle Sajous, at 718-320-3300 x3532, Director of Community Relations/Riverbay Fund.

We are pleased to announce “Principle Centered Living,” a new radio show with our Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Sheldon E. Williams, on WMCA 570 AM, beginning Friday, August 6th at 1:30pm.  Listen every Friday thereafter.  Rev. “Feast Delivers” hosted by the Just For Men Ministry invites everyone to participate.  Make your selection by circling the item(s) on the menu.  Add $5.00 to your total, as a service charge and bring your receipt at pick up time.  The deadline for payment is August 8, and distribution will be at the church on Saturday, August 14 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon.  This month the Feast has a Mini BBQ special, with the trimmings, at a cost of $30.  For the sea food lover you might want to check out the new Fish Sampler at a cost of $16. Checks are accepted, made out to the Co-op City Baptist Church.  Menus may be found at the information desk.  Kindly see Bro. Gary Goode or Deacon Linwood Wilson for additional information.

The Building Fund Ministry invites you to join them on their African American Heritage Tour on October 9 as they travel on a guided bus tour of historic Philadelphia.  See Mother Bethel AME Church, Penn’s Landing, the Liberty Bell, Head House Square, Old Pine Church and the famous African American Museum.  Your day will end with an all-you-can-eat dinner buffet.  Ticket price for adults $100, children ages 3-12 $75 and children 2 years old and under are free.  The bus will leave from135 Einstein Loop at 8:30 a.m.  You may stop by the information table to secure your ticket.   Seating will be assigned when you pay for your ticket.  The deadline for payment of tickets is Sunday, September 5th.

The Scholarship Ministry invites you to join them on their Shopping Spree to Reading, PA and the Burlington Coat Outlet on October 23.  The donation will be $40.  The bus will leave from Asch Loop and Bartow Aveat 7 a.m. SHARP!  Seating will be assigned.  Tickets go on sale Sunday, August 8.

The assessment for the Church’s 39th Anniversary, which will be celebrated on Sunday, November 21, will be $40.  If you wish to pay your assessment in advance you can ask an Usher for an Assessment Envelope.

The Steeple Chase fundraiser continues.  Save one dollar per day for 365 days; turn your savings in monthly.  Please ask an Usher for a Steeple Chase envelope.  Thank you, Sis. Shirley Gullatt, President, Building Fund Ministry.
